Light Exercises for the Spirit brings together photographs made between 2016 and 2025.
Rather than being conceived as a single project, the work developed gradually through a number of distinct sequences made over nearly a decade.
Moving between family photographs, portraits, landscapes and everyday observations, the book unfolds through association rather than chronology. Images echo across sequences, places, years and emotional states: domestic interiors sit alongside quiet landscapes, moments of intimacy dissolve into absence, and ordinary gestures acquire new significance through their proximity to one another.
The book grew out of a need to process the events that shaped these years, and the ways they altered my understanding of time, intimacy and home. Approached with quiet curiosity, the photographs became a way of remaining with these experiences without reducing them to a single meaning.
Neither memoir nor documentary, Light Exercises for the Spirit unfolds through the fragmented logic of memory, where sorrow and hope, closeness and distance, coexist rather than resolve.
